Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup (170 g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup (220 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.

Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy and fully combined.

Step 3: Combine the Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and sea salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Step 4: Add Chocolate Chips

Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.

Step 5: Shape the Cookies

Scoop large portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie for spreading.

Step 6: Bake

Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown while the centers remain soft.

Step 7: Cool and Serve

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for several minutes before serving.

Serve warm for extra gooey chocolate goodness.
