Ingredients :

 4 ounces sweet German chocolate, chopped
 1/2 cup water
 1 cup soft butter
 2 cups of sugar
 4 large eggs, separated, at room temperature
 1 teaspoon vanilla
 2-1/2 cup cake flour
 1 teaspoon baking soda
 1/2 teaspoon salt
 1 cup of milk

frost:

 1-1/2 cup sugar
 1-1/2 cup evaporated milk
 3/4 cup butter
 5 large egg yolks, room temperature, whisked
 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
 1-1/2 cup chopped pecans
 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
