6 large Halal chicken drumsticks, skin on

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon salt, plus more for seasoning

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a slight kick)

1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tablespoon white vinegar/lemon juice, let sit 5 mins)
